Drawing Setup:
Windows/Model Info
- set units 1/64"
- credits --used if sharing model with google
- enable scene transitions
- shows all components of model
- when you select a component, the name is also selected
- save camera angles/views of model
- you can then move from one scene to another with animation
- hit "ALT" and a + appears, copy is enabled
- hit "ALT" again and copy is toggled, so MOVE is enabled
- make two sides of bookcase
- make bottom shelf
- select move tool, hit "ALT", + appears
- select top left corner of bottom shelf
- drag to top of left side
- type /3
- three more shelves will be created, even spaced between the top and the bottom shelf
- you can select an object using the arrow tool, and drawing a dotted box around it
- you can then right click and make it a group. Then you can move it as a group
- you can also select many groups and make them a group
- if you double-click a group, you can edit inside it. If you double-click again on a group inside a group, you can edit it as well.
ORBIT Tool
- click mouse wheel and move mouse
- turn mouse wheel
- press SHIFT and press the mouse wheel
- press shift while you use the move tool
- using the arrow tool, drawing a box from the top left to the right (downward) you select objects which are completely enclosed in the box drawn
- if you draw from the bottom right to the top left, you select anything that the box drawn touches.
- use the tape measure tool on faces !
- to copy a board 4 times, spacing them evenly
- draw a guide on the bottom.
- select copy tool, press "ALT" get +
- select the guide, and drag it to the top of the board. Let go of the mouse button
- type /4
- this will copy the line four times between the two guides
- context select the line (Control +click)
- go the the drop-down menu "divide"
- move the pointer over the line and you will see different divisions as you move the pointer
- type the number of segments you what and press "return"
- If you can not see the end-points, go to Windows/Styles and click on End Points and indicate how many pixels to use.
